Does A Rose By Any Other Name Smell Just As Sweet?
By Hybrids Rising
Highly valuable and insightful information regarding the modern day Alien Contact Phenomenon has been acquired over the past 70 years. One important characteristic of the Aliens and Advanced Intelligences who are attracted to our planet and its inhabitants is their ability to exist on our planet and breathe our air without wearing any type of breathing apparatus. There are of course some references in the early literature that describe spacesuits and helmets and masks being worn by apparent ETs, but the vast majority of Contact cases describe them without this type of equipment being necessary for survival here.
We have learned there are different types of ETs and AIs who are visiting Earth, seemingly unimpeded by our atmosphere, and that includes the newest species referred to as ET Human Hybrids. Extraterrestrials referred to as Greys, Blond Nordics, Browns Dwarfs, Reptilians, and Mantis or Insectoid appearing ETs as well as Hybrids, have all been described by many people experiencing Contact; again, it is rare for any of them to be seen wearing anything resembling a spacesuit for protection or a helmet or mask to help them breathe. The same can be said for Humans who find themselves onboard their vessels or inside their space hubs or underground facilities, whether they be in this dimension or in another. Humans can breathe their air without requiring any body coverings for protection or needing special breathing apparatuses.
It is logical to hypothesize then, since several species (or races) can exist in Earth’s atmosphere and we can exist in theirs, we may not be as different from each other as we once thought. This is one of the premises of this document. This document also explores the names we have given some of the ETs; why we call them what we do, and how accurate the information about these Visitors really is.
Where Do They Come From?
For over 30 years, ufologists, Contact Experiencers, and most recently, even a small portion of the lay public have been referring to gray appearing aliens as The Zetas. This designation gained notoriety after the Betty and Barney Hill abduction in 1961 when, years later, an elementary school teacher and amateur astronomer named Marjorie Fish constructed a model based on a star map shown to Betty Hill during her encounter. This was the inspiration for an article published in Astronomy magazine in 1974 titled The Zeta Reticuli Incident. [1-2]
Many people may not be aware of this fact, but the editor of Astronomy magazine, Terrence Dickinson, did not agree with Marjorie Fish’s star map interpretation; however, the article was published nonetheless in order to begin a dialogue based on the public’s opinions regarding the UFO phenomenon. This dialogue continued in the pages of Astronomy for approximately one year, which set a record for the magazine at that time. This alone gives the article historical significance, but there is much more to this story.
You may be surprised to learn there are a total of six star map interpretations based on Betty Hill’s original drawing of the map shown to her by an alien she referred to as “the leader” during her and her husband Barney’s abduction. All six maps are listed below in their order of discovery and are followed by a brief description.
The Betty Hill Star Map
The Hill map, as illustrated and discussed in The Interrupted Journey is, according to Betty, Pegasus based, and although Betty redrew the map until she felt she had the stars positioned correctly, it is considered the map which the ET leader showed her. This is the map upon which five other maps are based. The HR Team advises anyone interested in this seminal case to read The Interrupted Journey, by John G. Fuller and the important follow-up book on the case entitled Captured: The Betty and Barney Hill Alien Abduction, by Betty’s niece Kathleen Marden and ufologist Stanton Friedman. [3-6]
The Marjorie Fish Star Map
This map is based on Betty Hill’s Pegasus map and is oriented within the Zeta Reticuli star system. This is the genesis of the Zeta Reticuli Theory, i.e., the idea that the Greys are from the Zeta Reticuli star system, which is similar to the title of the article that was published in Astronomy in 1974 called The Zeta Reticuli Incident.
Marjorie Fish spent years researching and constructing her star map and made heroic efforts to decipher Betty Hill’s drawing. She will always be remembered for her perseverance, hard work and her knowledge of astronomy. If not for Fish’s dedication and knowledge, it’s possible, even probable Betty Hill’s star map would never have made it into the public domain and into the hearts and mind set of ufologists and people experiencing Contact. Some might say that with new scientific discoveries comes the replacing of old theories in favour of new theories that bear out investigation. Decades later, via a statement in Marjorie Fish’s obituary, it was written that Marjorie Fish changed her opinion about her interpretation of the Zeta Reticuli Star Map:
“…after newer data was compiled, she determined that the binary stars [Zeta 1 and Zeta 2] within the pattern were too close together to support life; so as a true skeptic, she issued a statement that she now felt that the correlation was unlikely.” [8-A]
That same year, Marjorie’s eldest niece, Connie Ann Limpert issued an official statement to the contrary with a statement that in part reads:
“When I wrote Aunt Marj’s obituary, it was a short statement for the local community. The pastor who officiated at the funeral only met with us once and got some of the basic facts turned around, but since only the family attended and I thought he would no longer be involved, I did not correct him. Someone at the funeral home offered to send an announcement of Marjorie’s death to organizations he thought she had been involved in (from some of the various printouts we had shared from the internet). I have not inquired what was sent to whom. After being ignored by the public as a person for so many years, I did not think Marjorie’s short obituary would receive such interest or provoke a word-for-word examination.”
This information has been included so our readers will know the HR Team is aware of these contradictory statements. You may read Marjorie’s complete obituary and Connie Ann Limpert’s complete response in our Sources at the end of this document. [8-B]
In a scientific paper published in 2010 and authored by numerous scientists, the scientific community came across another reason why Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 may not host planets:
“Far-infrared observations have revealed a flattened, disk-like structure with a semi-major axis of ~ 100 AU in size is detected around zeta^2 Ret. [Zeta Reticuli 2] The resolved structure suggests the presence of an eccentric dust ring, which we interpret as an exo-Kuiper belt.”
“[This] suggests that there are no planets around Zeta 2, or they would have swept away this dust ring through constant collisions with its particles…Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 are not Main Sequence stars at all, but sub-dwarf stars, Class VI [Main Sequence stars are Class V]. The Fish Map was supposed to exclude all non Main Sequence stars…this means that the two Zetas are not really solar-type stars, and should have been excluded from the Fish Map.”
In 2013, as binary stars came back into favour it was theorized that Zeta 1 and Zeta 2 could have their own habitable zone, but according to author and lay scientist Steve Pearse, who has dedicated over 13 years to studying the Hill Star map, this becomes a debatable point because there has been a drastic reduction in the age of Zeta Reticuli 1 and 2. Quoting Pearse:
“What are the prospects for life in the ZR star system? Older sources claim these stars to be relatively old (6-8 billion years old is often quoted) but more recent evidence acquired by analyzing the stars’ light with spectroscopes suggests these are young stars, possibly only two billion years old (compared to our own Sun’s 4.5 billion year age). Their youth may count against the possibly of higher forms of life existing on Zeta Reticulan worlds. After all, there has been life on Earth for most of the planet’s existence…for most of this time terrestrial life had been single-celled micro-organisms, whereas multicellular life, plants and animals and so on, appeared only in the last 600 million years. No planets have yet been discovered around either star.”
The Charles W. Atterberg Star Map
Charles W. Atterberg’s star map places Betty’s Star Map within 18 light years of our own sun. Interestingly, three stars at the heart of Atterberg’s map are also on astronomer Margaret Turnbull’s “short list” for top choices for The Planetary Planet Finder Project. They are Epsilon Eridani (in the constellation Eridanus) Epsilon Indi (in the constellation Indus) and Tau Ceti (in the constellation Cetus).
These three stars form the heart of the Atterberg map and also define the two spheres (formerly thought to be Zeta 1 and Zeta 2) in the very centre of the heavy lines that are believed to represent the major trade routes of the aliens. The other two stars that complete Turnbull’s short list are 40 Eridani (in the constellation Eridanus) and Alpha Centauri B (in the constellation Centaurus). [12-14]
The Koch-Kyborg Star Map
The Koch-Kyborg star map is based on the theory that Betty was shown our own solar system because of the position of the stars Betty drew. Their hypothesis is that Betty Hill was shown planets and not stars; and from what her view was that night as she would have gazed into the heavens. This would seem to be a quite logical hypothesis to propose since we know abductions often occur on a waiting craft and normally take place near our own planet. It is plausible to assume the craft Betty and Barney Hill were taken to was, in fact, in orbit around Earth at the time. [15-18]
The Yari Danjo Map
The Yari Danjo star map is based on Dowsing for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, and the scientists involved in this unusual experiment stated their [partial] conclusions as “…evidence seems to be mounting that the [aliens’] home star system is Alpha Centauri B…”
Like Zeta Reticuli, Alpha Centauri is a binary star system designated Alpha Centauri AB. Their combined magnitude makes it the third brightest star (other than our sun) in the night sky. Sirius, in the constellation Canis Major is the brightest star, and Canopus, in the constellation Carina, is the second brightest star.
The complete and lengthy study of Yari Danjo’s star map and planet formation model resulted in three conclusions (quoting):
(1) …two of the three star systems dowsed as supporting intelligent life forms (extra-terrestrials), 61 Cygni and UV Ceti, have astronomical data indicating the presence of planets. It is interesting that research on these stars’ planetary systems seems to have ceased in the mid 70’s and that they have not been mentioned in recent media releases.
(2)… the planet orbiting UV Ceti’s A star may be too cold to support life (the B star’s planetary system has not been modeled). Should life evolve on an (unpredicted) planet 2 or more likely 4 times closer to the parent A star, that life would have to exist in a medium protecting it from UV Ceti’s prominent flares.
(3)… Danjo’s planet formation model seems to have been verified, both for planet orbital radius, and to a lesser degree, for planet mass. Consequently, his projected planetary systems for Alpha Centauri’s A and B stars is likely valid (even though optical detection of the effects of planets wobbling their parent stars may be difficult). Both Alpha Centauri’s stars have been modeled as having planets (or large satellites) in the liquid water zone (thus host life). Concatenating the dowsed results and Danjo’s models, evidence seems to be mounting that the “clams” [aliens] home star system is Alpha Centauri B, not UV Ceti. [19-21]
The Hill-Wilson Star Map
This star map is called the Hill-Wilson star map to credit the two Experiencers who were involved in its inception: (1) Betty Hill, who was shown the original map and remembered enough detail to draw it, and (2) E. Wilson, who was the given verbal directions by a different Grey some 32 years later.
Steve Pearse’s map is Earth based, but is also based on Ursa Major and Leo Minor with the home star pinpointed and named as 20 Leonis Minoris or 20 Leo Minor; again, another binary star system, but this time in the constellation Leo Minor. Its companion is an old, but active, red dwarf star with high metallurgic properties. (Our sun is a yellow dwarf star.) 20 Leo Minor is also on Margaret Turnbull’s short list of “…30 particularly suitable stars from the 5,000 in the HabCat list that are within 100 light years of Earth.” [22-26]
The Greys or The Zetas?
Are the Greys truly inhabitants, former or otherwise, of the Zeta Reticuli star system? And, if they are not, why then are they often referred to as The Zetas instead of by their true name which might then reveal their true origins? Did people just assume they were from the Zeta Reticuli star system after reading The Zeta Reticuli Incident? Perhaps… and then, perhaps not.
The HR Team is aware of two [non-channelled and public] references to Contact Experiencers being told by an Extraterrestrial they do indeed come from a planet in the Reticuli system: The 1978 case of William Hermann and the case of Kim Carlsberg as published in her book, Beyond My Wildest Dreams in 1995, when she said the beings spelled out the two words “zeta” and “reticulum” during one of her encounters.
William Hermann said the beings spoke to him about having met with another couple previously and actually named them as Betty and Barney Hill. Both of these cases are highly unusual due to the fact that the beings, especially the Greys, are not known for volunteering much information, and when they do, they normally wipe the Experiencer’s memory and place a screen memory in its place. The time proximity with the Hermann abduction, occurring 4 years after the publication of the Astronomy article, has led some to question whether there was media contamination between Hermann’s experience and his memory and the publication of The Zeta Reticuli Incident in 1974. The Carlsberg case remains interesting, but could be questioned on the same grounds since there has been much more publicity about this theory since the Hermann abduction.
What is perhaps most important in these two cases are the beings’ motives. Were the Greys merely agreeing with Hermann and Carlsberg when they asked them, “Are you a Zeta?” or stating the obvious when asked, “Where do you come from?” Or, were they agreeing by appeasement via telepathic probing of the subjects’ minds and allowing them to continue to believe they are from the Zeta Reticuli System for reasons we may never know?
Another, perhaps more important question we should be asking is: If they really are from the Zeta Reticuli system, why don’t they refer to themselves by the proper name of their planet instead of referring to themselves as part of the overall star system? Why aren’t they called The Reticulums instead of The Zetas? Why not the name of their planet and in their own language? The most logical reason is: they did not want these two Experiencers, or anyone else for that matter, to know the true name or location of their home world.
If this is the case, one might ponder the question: Are the Greys fearful of Humans determining where their species originates? Unless Humans have successfully back-engineered crashed alien craft and are successfully flying them to other planets, it does not make sense for the Greys to fear anything, including retaliation from us, by honestly stating from which planet or solar system they originate. They appear to have free reign of our skies and space around our planet, and excluding the aforementioned possibility, we are decades away from developing any type of long range space craft in which Humans can sustain themselves. Once we do accomplish this feat, it will most likely take us several lifetimes to reach their home world if we have to travel outside of our own solar system to do it.
On the other hand, if the Breakaway Humans, which we believe includes the MILAB component of this phenomenon, have been given access to certain types of Extraterrestrial Technology, in this case ET propulsion or even their access to ET craft (which some people claim has indeed occurred) then some of the beings might have a logical reason to fear Humans discovering the true location of their home world.
It is possible one of the methods, in addition to advanced technology, used by the Greys to reach Earth in the first place is that they lived in space on their spacecraft for generations and perhaps “planet hopped” to Earth from millions, maybe even trillions of miles away over a long period of time. They could have used this mode of travel in conjunction with other modes such as wormholes or space portals.
An interesting exchange relating to this theory was first published in 1994 when a Contact Experiencer asked a Grey where he was from and the Grey not only answered his question, but also provided what Pearse, in his book entitled Set Your Phaser To Stun referred to as “a road map to the stars.” It is the same account that Steve Pearse said inspired him to begin his research into Betty Hill’s star map. What relates to this discussion is the Grey also told the man that he [the Grey] had never seen his own planet because he was born on his ship.
Speaking to the Grey, the Experiencer asks:
‘Are you from the Pleiades?’
The Being adamantly replies, ‘No.’
I ask him where he is from. We look in the sky to see the Big Dipper. He says,
‘See the Ursa Major?’
I reply ‘Yes.’
The Being then tells me, ‘The star cluster to the right and below. The one with the triangle to the left and the little stars in between...we’re from that one: ‘The fourth planet from our sun.’ “
I ask him what his planet is like. He said sadly,
“I don’t know. I’ve never been there. I was born on our ship.”
Another popular channelled theory, as well as reports from people who have been physically taken, proposes certain extraterrestrials originate from Sirius, in the constellation Canis Major.
An article written for the lay public titled Can The Sirius Star System Support Life? addresses some of the issues surrounding this idea in a manner that can be easily understood. The article leaves the reader contemplating three stars mentioned in the book titled The Sirius Mystery…
“… In 1976, when Robert Temple’s book was written, it was dismissed outright by other scholars as nonsense. But is it? Since his writing of his book the second star has been 100% confirmed and the third star has not been mathematically ruled out and indeed, gravitational studies in the 1990’s did show that something was there.”
Sirius is a binary star system with the designations Sirius A, which is a main sequence star, and Sirius B, a faint white dwarf star. Much has been written about this star system, both in ancient times and in the present day, and according to astrobiologists the general consensus is:
“Although the chances for life around white dwarfs and brown dwarfs might look slim, they are not zero… ‘[we’re] not arguing that all planets around brown dwarfs and white dwarfs are uninhabitable… Just that they have more hurdles to clear.’” [29-33]
There are fascinating accounts from the Dogon People stating their ancestors passed down a story about beings who came from the planet Sirius and warned them to relocate their tribe prior to a geographic catastrophe. Books and articles have been written about these People’s ancestry, what some prefer to call mythology, but this is an idea that should be seriously considered. It is the HR Team’s belief that what we refer to in current times as mythology, is actually information most likely based in fact; and some of these former “myths” are being scientifically proven as fact as advances in technologies and new geologic and anthropologic discoveries are made.
Another popular location from which our extraterrestrial visitors are said to originate is a planetary system in Orion. Although there are very few non-channelled sources for this theory, there are a few good sources from physical Contact Experiencer sources.
Thus far, we have detected nine stars within Orion that have planets orbiting them so this will be an exciting and potentially hopeful area of space to consider. We have already discovered nearly 1000 planets, and with astronomers saying there could easily be as many as 60+ billion habitable planets in the Milky Way alone, there is little doubt that Extraterrestrial life is visiting from one of the planets orbiting a star in Orion.
Even more impressive than Orion is Ursa Major or the Big Dipper; another constellation full of stars that leads us to an exciting hypothesis that life exists within and in abundance. Ursa Major has 21 known stars with planets orbiting them and gives us two meteor showers, the Alpha Ursa Majorids and the Leonids (Ursids). Besides being full of stars, Ursa Major contains many deep sky objects including several bright galaxies. There is little doubt this area of space is literally teaming with life. [37, 38, 39]
Some Contact Experiencers believe extraterrestrials such as the Blond Nordics are called The Pleiadians because they are said to come from a planet in the Pleiades star system. One of the earliest references to this star system in the Contact Experiencer literature is from “Billy” Eduard Albert Meier. Meier believed his beings originated from beyond the Pleiades and therefore called them Plejarens, not Pleiadians as so many people believe today.
There is, unfortunately, much less proof of life existing around stars in the Pleiades than there is for the other aforementioned star systems and constellations. Astrophysicists and astrobiologists have discovered the Pleiades are only approximately 100 million years old [70 to 150 million] which is far too young to have had any life originating on them. The cluster of stars in the Pleiades was most likely formed from a compact configuration resembling the Orion nebula. Scientists believe the Pleiades will only survive for another 250 million years and after that, the cluster will disperse due to gravitational forces existing nearby.
250 Million Years and Still Young
Based on scientific evidence, our own planet Earth is 4.6 billion years old and the first true primates didn’t come into existence until 60 million years ago. To put all of this in perspective, a review of the evolutionary history of Earth is in order. Additionally, through new research, scientists now believe that Earth-like planets most likely exist much closer to us than we thought possible: as close as 13 light years away. This still presents a huge problem, for Humans at least, because one light year is 5.878 trillion miles. [40-41]
Having stated all of the above, there may be a slight chance of a planet being found in the Pleiades. In an article published in 2007 in Science News titled Planets Forming Around Star in Pleiades Star Cluster scientists suspect that HD 23514 may be a possible candidate.
“Analyzing deep-infrared images obtained by the Spitzer Space Telescope and Gemini North telescope, astronomers discovered that one of the cluster’s stars – HD 23514, which has a mass and luminosity a bit greater than those of the sun, is surrounded by an extraordinary number of hot dust particles. This could be evidence for planet formation around HD 23514.” [42, 43, 44, 45]
Others, most notably Betty Hill, who saw and drew the original star map, postulate that some extraterrestrials come from a planetary system within the constellation of Pegasus, which turns out to be a logical assumption. Astronomers have identified 51 Pegasi as the first extrasolar Sun-like star found to have a planet orbiting it. Also of interest is that 51 Pegasi has been recently chosen as a prime target for the Terrestrial Planet Finder which is planned to be launched sometime between 2014 and 2020. Could Betty Hill’s original interpretation of her own star map have been right all along?
Six Most Hopeful Planets
As of today’s current scientific knowledge, the top six most probable habitable planets are:
Gliese 581g, a red dwarf with spectral type M3V, located about 22 light years away from Earth in the constellation Libra.
Gliese 581d, an extrasolar planet orbiting the star Gliese 581 approximately 20 light-years away, also in the constellation of Libra. It is approximately seven times as massive as Earth and orbits farther out than its planetary sibling Gliese 581g.
Gliese 667Cc, which orbits a red dwarf 22 light-years away, in the constellation Scorpio
Kepler-22b, a star in the northern constellation of Cygnus or The Swan. K22-b is orbited by a planet found to be “unequivocally within the star’s habitable zone.” It was discovered by NASA’s Kepler space telescope, which has detected more than 2,300 potential exoplanets since 2009.
HD 85512b a Super Earth, one that is estimated to be approximately 3.6 times as massive as our planet. This alien world is about 35 light-years from us, in the direction of the constellation Vela, also known as The Sail.
2014 Update: A “...newfound planet, called Kepler-186f, was first spotted by NASA’s Kepler space telescope and circles a dim red dwarf star about 490 light-years from Earth. While the host star is dimmer than Earth's sun and the planet is slightly bigger than Earth, the positioning of the alien world coupled with its size suggests that Kepler-186f could have water on its surface, scientists say.” [50,a]
Much Closer to Home
It is possible the Extraterrestrials who are being seen, reported and illustrated – and you know this is a physically occurring phenomenon when the same Extraterrestrials have entire web sites, blogs and facebook sites dedicated to them – are coming from someplace much closer. Could it be our own solar system? Could it be the dark side of the Moon or beneath the lunar surface? Could they live on giant mother ships or in floating or orbiting space hubs that are shielded from our satellites? Could they be shielded due to our own biologically limited visual acuity because we Humans are out of phase with them? Could they be living beneath us on our own planet, either underground or under our oceans? Or, do they come here from these great astronomically impossible distances because they can fold space, create portals, use wormholes, “planet hop,” have incredibly long life spans and can even time travel?
Does A Rose By Any Other Name Smell Just As Sweet…?
The title of this document was taken from a commonly quoted portion of dialogue in William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet in which Juliet argues that the names of things do not matter, only what things ‘are.’ In other words, What matters is what something is, not what it is called.
And in the end, perhaps, for the time being at least, what matters is that Contact is occurring to thousands, perhaps millions of Humans on our planet and we need to come to grips with that reality before we can even begin to seriously contemplate venturing out into the vast unknown of space. If we cannot compassionately and ethically take care of the Human, Animal and Plant life on our own planet, as well as seriously accept the concept of the Extraterrestrial presence on our planet now, what gives us the right to plan a mission to Mars or beyond?

Multiple Authors. Cold dust around nearby stars (DUNES). First results: A resolved exo-Kuiper belt around the solar-like star zeta^2 Ret, 2010.
The following Abstract and their Conclusions have been excerpted from Cornell University Library at:
“We present the first far-IR observations of the solar-type stars delta Pav, HR 8501, 51 Peg and zeta^2 Ret, taken within the context of the DUNES Herschel Open Time Key Programme (OTKP). This project uses the PACS and SPIRE instruments with the objective of studying infrared excesses due to exo-Kuiper belts around nearby solar-type stars. The observed 100 um fluxes from delta Pav, HR 8501, and 51 Peg agree with the predicted photospheric fluxes, excluding debris disks brighter than Ldust/Lstar ~ 5 x 10^-7 (1 sigma level) around those stars. A flattened, disk-like structure with a semi-major axis of ~ 100 AU in size is detected around zeta^2 Ret. The resolved structure suggests the presence of an eccentric dust ring, which we interpret as an exo-Kuiper belt with Ldust/Lstar ~ 10^-5.”
“Our results show the capability of Herschel / PACS to detect and resolve cold dust disks with a luminosity close to the solar Kuiper belt, which will allows us to deepen our understanding of planetary systems, in particular those associated with mature stars. Specifically, our data exclude the existence of cold debris disks with L dust / L ⋆ & 5 × 10 7 (1 σ) around the solar-type stars δ Pav, HR 8501 and 51 Peg. On the other hand, the data show that ζ 2 Ret is a good example where cold disks around nearby stars, very much alike the solar Kuiper belt, can be resolved and studied in great detail with the Herschel space observatory.”

“Earth-sized planets can support life at least ten times further away from stars than previously thought, according to academics at the University of Aberdeen. Planetary and Space Science claims cold rocky planets previously considered uninhabitable may actually be able to support life beneath the surface. The team from the University of St. Andrews, challenge the traditional habitable zone i.e. the area of space around a star, or sun, which can support life by taking into consideration life living deep below the ground…..The traditional habitable zone is also known as the Goldilocks zone, A planet needs to be not too close to its sun but also not too far away for liquid water to persist, rather than boiling or freezing, on the surface.”

Marjorie Eleanor Fish
OAK RIDGE, TN: Marjorie Eleanor Fish, 80, of Oak Ridge, TN, and formerly of Lakeside & Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Monday, April 08, 2013 at Riverview Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, OH.
Marjorie was born on September 19, 1932 in Cleveland, OH, the daughter of Oren and Mary (Underwood) Fish Jr. The Fish family moved to Lakeside, OH, when Marjorie was young. She graduated from Danbury HS in 1950 and Juanita College, Huntington, PA in 1954. Marjorie worked at Gibbs Studio in Lakeside and for a photographer in Toledo for a few years. She attended Bowling Green State University (Ohio), to obtain her teaching certificate. She taught kindergarten at Catawba School and Portage School before taking a position at Benton, Carroll, Salem Schools teaching 1st and 3rd grades. She is fondly remembered by her students for playing “America” on the organ as class started and teaching “My Country ‘tis of Thee”. As one of her hobbies, Marjorie made an investigation into the Betty Hill map by constructing a 3-D star map in the late 1960’s using several databases. She found a pattern that matched Mrs. Hill’s drawing well, which generated international interest. Later, after newer data was compiled, she determined that the binary stars within the pattern were too close together to support life; so as a true skeptic, she issued a statement that she now felt that the correlation was unlikely. The History Channel portrayed her in at least one series. She moved to work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN. She retired with over 20 years of research service for the U. S. Department of Energy.
Marjorie shared her love of art, learning the out-of-doors, camping, gardening and many other interests with her nieces and nephew: Connie (Jeffrey) Limpert, Helen (Robert) Denney, Joel (Dawn) Lowien, Julia (John) Empcke and Joann (Jeff) Wilber; nine great-nieces and nephews,; four great-great-nephews and a great-great-niece.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Jean (Bernell) Lowien.
Visitation will be 11-1pm, Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, followed by a funeral service conducted by Pastor Bruce-Batchelor-Glader at 1:00pm, in the funeral home. Burial will be in Sackett Cemetery, Marblehead, OH.
Memorial donations in memory of Marjorie may be given to the , 2500 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615 or the Ottawa County Humane Society, 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton, OH. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com

Correction from Marjorie Fish’s Niece, Connie Ann Limpert as published in UFO Today, Issue 2.1 published by http://www.ufotoday.net
In a letter to Philip Mantle, the editor of UFO Today, Kathleen Marden wrote:
“It is true that the obituary pertaining to Marjorie’s death stated, ‘Later, after newer data was compiled, she determined that the binary stars within the pattern were too close together to support life; so as a true skeptic, she issued a statement that she now felt that the correlation was unlikely. But the statement was issued in error and is inaccurate.’”
“Stanton Friedman and I contacted Marjorie’s Eldest niece, Coni Ann Limpert, to inquire about this as neither of us had ever heard the statement before. It was not in Betty’s files; nor was it in Stan’s files. Coni Ann replied,
‘When I wrote Aunt Marj’s obituary, it was a short statement for the local community. After being ignored by the public as a person for so many years, I did not think Marjorie’s short obituary would receive such interest or provoke a word-for-word examination.’
‘Marjorie’s work on Betty Hill’s map is still viable and worthy of consideration. To clarify what I was referring to, I remember Marj talking about a binary system that would not allow for the development of life – the source was not a newly issued star catalog. While working on the obituary for Marjorie, my father recalled that Marj wrote a letter/ statement to the effect that new data indicated that a system could not support life so her matching of the Betty Hill map was incorrect.’
‘Perhaps she and/or the recipient(s) realized that the published interpretation of the data was in error – not Marjorie’s work. In any case, Marj did not tell my father who was not involved anyway. If one wishes more details, please see the attached notes from Stanton Friedman. Our current knowledge allows for planets and possible life where Marjorie had indicated. The larger point, that Marjorie was a true skeptic willing to let go of projects she was deeply involved in if the evidence was to the contrary, also remains. We will see how many people using my obituary for Marjorie to say her work is “debunked” will make corrections to their sites, etc. Of course, Marjorie built more than one three-dimensional representation of our stellar neighbourhood. She started her quest with one, built another with more data, others as newer star catalogs became available, ones with selected data, and so forth. I built the first of the type using suspended beads (1968). I would like to make clear that Sol is in a lonely position between two clumps of like (type G – yellow) stars: our system is of interest. Marjorie suffered the worst end for a person of her intellect and her life-long cultivation of knowledge and artistic skills. Alzheimer’s disease stole more than a decade of her life, her memory, and her brilliant yet loving mind.’
‘Playing the piano was one of the abilities she retained the longest. Many of her former students (first and third grade) shared with us their memories of how she started each day playing patriotic songs (on her own tiny piano) for them to sing. Later she worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory where it was left to her to make sense of data from disparate sources and methods. Her only sibling, my mother, had slipped away from us earlier, also due to Alzheimer’s disease. The constant, continuing loss of a loved one’s essence is painful. The final end is more so, even the second time.’” – Coni Ann (Lowien) Limpert, 2013
